Grade 2

What is a row?

row

A line of things going across.

For example

The eggs in a tray sit in rows of six across.

In Grade 2

Children arrange objects into rows and columns, then count them in equal groups.

Watch out for

Children often mix rows up with columns. A row goes across, the same way words go across a page.

Say it at home

Look at an egg tray and ask how many eggs sit in one row across.
