Grade 6

What is an interior angle?

interior angle

An angle inside a shape, in the corner between two of its sides.

For example

Each interior angle of a square is 90 degrees.

In Grade 6

Children measure the angles inside a shape and add them together to find a pattern.

Watch out for

Children often measure the angle outside the shape instead of inside. The interior angle sits between the two sides.

Say it at home

Draw a triangle and measure the three angles inside, then add them together.
